About Us...
On November 21, 1996, the St. Clair County Board of Health established the Willard C. Scrivner, M.D. Public Health Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that works with the Board of Health as a public/private partnership to develop private funding sources for priority public health issues. The Foundation is named in honor of the late Dr. Willard C. Scrivner, a retired obstetrician and long time public health leader.
MISSION:
To increase the capacity of the St. Clair County Board of Health, St. Clair County Health Care Commission, and associated agencies to promote self-responsibility, healthy lifestyles, prevention of disease, and improvement of public health through an organized program of assessment, policy development, planning, education, quality assurance, and service demonstration.
GOALS
:
To assist in the attainment of the mission, goals, and objectives of the Health Board and Commission.
To establish a public/private partnership to receive and expend funds for public health purposes.
To develop alternative funding sources, which can be used to meet emerging public health needs for which no traditional funding is available.
